Opening Day: Old Time Plowing & Folkways

April 8, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Winter has passed and we are officially re-opening for our 2017 season at the Cradle of Forestry in America Heritage Site. Take a turn at horse-drawn plowing in the heritage garden, visit with demonstrators, and buy crafts from traditional artisans. You will feel Blue Ridge culture come to life as you step back into the time of the Biltmore Forest School and the Pink Beds community.

Meet old-time homesteaders David and Diane Burnette and their Percheron draft horses. Weather permitting, the horses plow our small garden. Participants can come watch or try steering themselves.
