ASAP and Asheville Scene’s Tomato Recipe Contest
We know for you, tomato lovers, that nothing beats the taste of a farm-fresh local mater all on its own. But, we also know that you get creative in the summertime, including tomatoes in all kinds of dishes so you can enjoy the season’s bounty morning, noon, and night. Do you add a pinch of a surprising spice to your tomato sauce? Enjoy them for dessert? Share your favorite, most innovative tomato recipes with us and Asheville Scene!
Asheville Scene’s resident food reporter, Mackensy Lunsford, will select one winner and one runner-up. Winning recipes will be printed in Asheville Scene coinciding with our Tomato Festival at Asheville City Market on August 10; click for all the details! Winners will also receive Asheville City Market Bucks.
Recipes must be received by noon on Monday, August 5.
Entry into the Tomato Recipe Contest grants ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project) permission to use the recipe in any and all public informational material. This includes but is not limited to print media (newspaper, television) and printed materials (brochures, newsletters, etc.), audio/DVD, and online media (websites, social media sites, etc.). Care will be taken to give credit when possible.Tags:Contest, Get Local, recipe, recipe contest, recipes, tomatoes
