Southern Appalachian Family Farms (SAFF) holds a general monthly meeting at the Tri-County Community College in Peachtree, McSwain Building, Room 152 the fourth Monday of every month at 7:00 PM and usually ends at 9:00 PM.

Everyone is invited to joins us – Farmers, large and small, livestock producers, beekeepers, vegetable growers, fruit growers, poultry producers, the home gardener and the public are invited to come to the meeting. SAFF is a farmer-led and managed marketing organization. Each meeting has a speaker present a topic geared for the farmers’ needs and information. You can join the organization at no cost and network with fellow enthusiasts sharing ideas. This meeting is designed for you to take useful tools,
skills, and practices back to your property so that you can earn more money from your Ag products.

Southern Appalachian Family Farms (SAFF) grew out of the need that the farmers recognized – they needed new and more profitable markets for their products. SAFF’s goal is to create a diverse marketing program to sell fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruit, meats and other agricultural products, including value-added products. By developing local and alternative sustainable markets SAFF can help to provide opportunities for our area farmers to utilize their land in more profitable ventures through access to resources, education and networking efforts.

Join us at the meeting – April 23rd at 7 PM – Make new friends, find out how Ag is an important economic contributor to the local economy. Farming is an important part of the mountain economy and jobs – come to our meeting and listen to the Appalachian Sustainable Agricultural Project (ASAP). ASAP helps create and expand local food markets that will preserve our agricultural heritage, give everyone access to fresh, healthy food, and keep our farmers farming. ASAP’s mission is to help local farms thrive, link farmers to markets and supporters, and build healthy communities through connections to local food.
