Webinar Description: USDA will cover the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) which provides direct financial assistance to producers who faced price declines and additional marketing costs due to COVID-19.  Farm Service Agency (FSA) is accepting applications now through August 28, 2020.  Specified eligible commodities include: 

  • non-speciality crops:  malting barley, canola, corn, upland cotton, oats, soybeans, sorghum, sunflowers, durum wheat, hard red spring wheat
  • wool
  • livestock:  cattle, hogs, sheep (lambs and yearlings only)
  • dairy
  • specialty crops:  certain fruits & vegetables, mushrooms

Producers should apply through the Farm Service Agency at their local USDA Service Center.  FSA has offices across Western North Carolina in Murphy, Franklin, Bryson City, Waynesville, Asheville, Marshall, Spruce Pine, Boone, Jefferson, Wilkesboro, Hendersonville, Spindale and Morganton. FSA Office locations and more program info can be found at or by calling the CFAP Call Center Hotline at 877-508-8364.
