Farm Tour Volunteer Signup

Thank you for your interest in making our 2012 Farm Tour a successful event. Volunteers are essential to all we do here at ASAP, and we are grateful for your time and support.

The Farm Tour is a self-guided tour of farms and gardens in Western North Carolina. There are 35 outstanding farms on the tour this year in Buncombe, Haywood, Madison, Henderson, and Yancey counties. These farms will open up to visitors from 1-6 pm on Saturday, September 22, and Sunday, September 23, providing a unique opportunity for our community to explore and celebrate local agriculture. The tour could not happen without the generous help of volunteers.

Prior to the tour, volunteers will attend an orientation session where they will be provided with needed information and materials. On the weekend of the tour, volunteers are paired with a farm and spend one day assisting that farm by greeting and registering guests, selling admission passes, guiding parking, and providing information about ASAP. It is very important that volunteers both arrive at the farm on time and stay for the full day (12-6 pm). In exchange for their help, volunteers are invited to pack up a car with friends and family and visit farms for free on the afternoon they are not volunteering.
