10 Reasons to Attend ASAP’s
Business of Farming Conference

Our Business of Farming Conference is just around the corner on February 23! What’s more, this year ASAP is celebrating the event’s tenth anniversary. In honor of the special occasion, we’ll post fun ‘top 10’ lists to get you excited about—and maybe share details you didn’t know before—the BIG event we affectionately call BOF. Here’s the first:

10 Reasons to Attend BOF

  1. There are 15 different workshops to choose from, on topics ranging from GAP certification, to agritourism, to marketing strategies, to farm business planning, to managing labor on your farm.
  2. You can get your burning questions about accounting, law, social media, graphic design and more answered in our sidewalk sessions with local experts.
  3. Even if you’ve attended before, this year offers you the chance to experience new workshop sessions on value-added products, e-commerce and farmland procurement.
  4. There’s the opportunity to meet restaurant owners, chefs, distributors and grocers at the local buyers meetings—and to share with them your farm and products, of course.
  5. You can participate in a special listening session hosted by the NC Sustainable Foods Advisory Council.
  6. We’re halfway through and haven’t even mentioned the food yet! Enjoy locally sourced meals featuring ingredients from more than 20 different regional farms and bakeries.
  7. Warren Wilson College students will show off their farm and garden, and their beautiful campus, during lunchtime tours (pictured above).
  8. The conference exhibitor hall will be full of helpful resources and contacts for your farm or to help get you started farming.
  9. It’s the perfect place for valuable networking opportunities with other local farms and businesses.
  10. And last, but certainly not least, because YOU have great stories and a wealth of expertise to share with other attendees!

Registration is now open, with a reduced rate in effect through February 1. Get all the details and sign up HERE.
