Tailgate Market Road Trip: Columbus Farmers’ Market

Columbus Farmers' Market

In this month’s installment of our “Road Trip” series, we button up our winter coats and head down to Polk County, NC, for the Columbus Winter Tailgate Market. Located inside the Rural Seed Restaurant on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through March, the Columbus Winter Tailgate Market is Polk’s only winter market.

Visitors to this intimate market have the unique opportunity to source local produce from over 15 vendors, and then further their local food experience by grabbing a bite with the market’s host, as many of the Rural Seed Restaurant’s products are sourced from the farmers selling at the market. The restaurant offers a 10 percent discount to those who spend $10 or more at the farmers market earlier in the day. On February 2, and again in March, the market will host “Ask an Herbalist” with holistic healer Julie Douglas of Wildkrafted Kitchen. For more information and updates, visit the Columbus Farmers’ Market page on Facebook.
